Our Story
Katrina
Movement, wellbeing, and helping others has always been at the heart of my life. A yearning or call I have felt from a very young age.
My passion for health and fitness began early. My first job was teaching children to swim—a role that combined safety, skill-building, and joy. I later became a lifeguard and aerobics instructor, continuing to support others on their wellness journeys. Teaching kids to swim was especially meaningful, knowing I was equipping them with life-saving skills and confidence in the water.
As life evolved, I spent several years in the corporate world as an Operations & Facilities Manager. It was during this time I pursued studies in, aromatherapy, massage and Reiki. Gaining Reiki 1 & 2 certification. I knew I had more to offer and I returned to a long-held calling: supporting others through care. I became a Disability Support Worker—a path inspired by my teenage years spent volunteering. This role was deeply fulfilling, allowing me to help individuals reach their goals and live more empowered lives.
Driven by my love for children, families, and holistic wellbeing, I discovered Zenergy Yoga and began formal training under the guidance of Lorraine Rushton—Australia’s leading authority on yoga for children and teens, and the 2025 Yoga Professional of the Year. I completed the Foundation and Advanced Courses, Therapy 1, and I am now currently undertaking further training with Therapy 2.
Therapy Yoga is a gentle, targeted practice designed to bring the body back into balance. Through Yoga Correctives—therapeutic movements that support organ function, body systems, and structural alignment—we help address both functional and physical challenges. Whether it’s diabetes, asthma, allergies, digestive issues, poor posture, spinal alignment, or joint discomfort, these practices offer holistic support for healing and wellbeing.
Awakening Soul Yoga is the culmination of my lifelong passion for movement, healing, and connection. It’s a space where children and families can grow, breathe, and shine—mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially..
